Proverbs & Sayings
Words of Wisdom & Humor from Africa, Ireland, Asia, Russia, Italy & Countries from Around the World.
Commentary © 2007-2009  Richard Chandler & Bonnett Chandler

This first saying, from our current American oral tradition, as well as an educator’s book of quotations, was generously given to us by our good friend, Virginia Riser.

Dr. Riser retired from an exemplary career as a teacher and school administrator, which included sixteen years of work for our St. Cloud School district. Her most recent position has been the Talahi Grade School principal.

Her positive impact on the lives of students, teachers, administrators, staff and our entire community is too profound to capture in words, so we will simply extend our thanks and well wishes to Virginia for all she has done and continues to do to enrich all of our lives. Being in her presence is ‘permanently enriching’ for all of us who have the good fortune to know her.

- Richard & Bonnett Chandler
